Explanation of the short strategy
Managers maintain a net short bias against the market. That is, managers seek securities that they view to be overvalued and short those stocks or use derivatives to profit from a declining share price. Alternatively, this strategy is applied in anticipation of the bearish cycle. Clearly, this strategy achieves better results in bearish markets.
